In September, the Yocuda team attended and exhibited at the annual Paris Retail Week, and what an incredible event it was! Not only did we take home the Award for Best Omnichannel Commerce but we also connected with other retail tech innovators, showcased our digital receipt solution to key retailers, and explored the latest trends shaping the industry.



Here are our key takeaways from Paris Retail Week 2024: 

 

1. Collaboration is key

A recurring theme in many conversations was the importance of partnerships and integrations. Retail solutions often work best when offered through collaborative efforts, creating a more seamless experience for both retailers and their customers. Pre-existing vendor collaborations can therefore streamline processes and enhance the overall customer journey.

2. Ongoing investment in retail innovation

Despite any turmoil the retail industry may have seen in recent years, brands are continuing to seek out and invest in new solutions to better engage their customers and improve the overall experience. When speaking with retailers at the event they recognised there will always be a need to innovate in order to succeed in the market. Whether that’s through an introduction of cloud-based POS, AI marketing solutions or continued omnichannel solutions, these initiatives remain a focus as they strive to meet changing customer expectations.

3. Sustainability in retail 

Sustainability is no longer just a “nice to have” — it’s now a strategic necessity. The French market continues to lead the way, as demonstrated by the ban on paper receipts last year, with retailers increasingly moving towards digital solutions. This shift aligns with findings from our recent report, Consumer Attitudes to Digital Receipts in 2024, which highlights the growing demand for more sustainable practices. 

The insights revealed that 96% of UK consumers and 94% of French consumers believe that adopting digital receipts contributes positively to reducing environmental impact.

We were inspired by the new, cutting-edge technologies that are enhancing the customer experience both online and in-store. Notable innovations this year included seamless checkout experiences using NFTs to automatically identify products, and the continued rise of AI-powered solutions, which are set to play a major role in the future of retail.

Another standout was EKOO, another award winner at Paris Retail Week, with their innovative audio commentary feature for websites, making product information more accessible and opening up new opportunities in retail media.
